Photo wallpaper: how do I measure the wall, and how is it hung?
Measure the wall at its widest and highest point in centimetres and add a few centimetres — the wallpaper is printed to exactly that size and arrives as numbered panels about 100 cm wide with a small overlap. Non-woven wallpaper is pasted to the wall (paste the wall, hang the dry panel); self-adhesive wall film is peeled off its backing dry and pressed on.
Measuring
- Width at the top, middle and bottom; height on the left, middle and right. The largest figure counts.
- Allowance: 3–5 cm in width and height — walls are rarely square, the excess is trimmed after hanging.
- Windows, doors, sockets: measure them, but order the wallpaper for the whole wall; the cut-outs are made on the wall.
- Your picture is scaled to your wall size — for your own photo, a resolution that is still sharp at wall size pays off (rule of thumb: at least 100 dpi at final size).
The three materials
| Material | Surface | Hanging | Removal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smooth non-woven, 150 g/m² | Smooth, matt | Paste the wall, hang the dry panel | Strips off dry |
| Textured non-woven (plaster look) | Fine texture, hides small unevenness | Paste the wall, hang the dry panel | Strips off dry |
| Self-adhesive wall film | Smooth | Peel the backing, press on from top to bottom | Cleanly from smooth walls |
Hanging in five steps
- The wall: smooth, dry, sound, light (prime dark walls white first). Fill holes, wipe off dust.
- Mark a plumb line: a vertical line with a spirit level for the first panel — never trust the room's corner.
- Hang the panels in the printed order, each with the small overlap on the previous one; match the picture at the overlap.
- Smooth out from the centre outwards with a soft brush or a rubber roller; push the air out.
- Trim the excess at the top, bottom and around sockets with a sharp knife — non-woven after it has dried a little.
The inks
Printed with odourless latex inks — the room can be used at once, bedrooms and children's rooms included.

Questions
What if my wall is wider than 3 m?
No problem: the wallpaper is made of as many panels as needed — up to 30 m wide and 4 m high.
Can I remove the wallpaper later?
Non-woven wallpaper strips off dry in whole panels; self-adhesive wall film peels cleanly off smooth walls.
Which material for a kitchen or bathroom?
Self-adhesive wall film or smooth non-woven — both are wipeable. Directly behind the hob or in the shower, no wallpaper belongs.
What about sockets and light switches?
The wallpaper goes over the opening and is cut out afterwards with a knife — take the covers off first, power off.
How much do the strips overlap?
The strips come about 100 cm wide with a small overlap of a few millimetres; they are numbered and hung from left to right.
